The installer gets WHMAZ running, but a handful of settings still need your attention before you take real customers. Work through this list in order.
1. Secure the administrator account
- If you installed the demo data, change the default administrator password immediately and delete the demo customer and demo admin accounts. Those credentials are published in the product documentation, so any install still using them is effectively open.
- Make sure the admin email address is a real, monitored business mailbox — system notifications go there.
- Enable Google reCAPTCHA under Settings → General to protect the admin login and the registration form from automated attacks.
2. Configure company settings
Under Settings → Company, set your trading name, address, and support contact details. These appear on invoices and in outbound email, so get them right before anything is generated.
3. Upload your logo
PNG or JPG, around 200×50 pixels, transparent background if PNG. It is used on invoices, in both portal headers and in emails.
4. Set up email
Under Settings → Email, enter your SMTP host, port, username and password, then send a test message. Almost nothing in WHMAZ is useful until mail works — invoices, password resets and ticket notifications all depend on it.
5. Set up the cron job
WHMAZ needs exactly one cron job. Until it exists, renewal invoices are never generated and overdue services are never suspended. See Setting Up the WHMAZ Cron Job.
6. Create your first package
Define at least one hosting package and connect the server it provisions on, so you can place a genuine test order end to end.
