Creating Hosting Packages

A package is what customers actually buy. It ties together what they get, what it costs, and which server it is created on.

Creating a package

  1. Go to Packages → Add Package in the admin portal.
  2. Name and description — what your customers see in the cart. Be specific about limits.
  3. Billing cycles — set a price for each cycle you want to offer. Leave a cycle empty to hide it.
  4. Server — the control panel server accounts are created on.
  5. Control panel package — the matching plan name on that server. This must match exactly, or provisioning will fail.
  6. Setup fee — optional, charged once on the first invoice.

Automatic versus manual provisioning

With automatic provisioning enabled, the account is created as soon as the order is paid. With it disabled the order waits in Pending for a member of staff to activate it. Start with manual while you are testing, then switch to automatic once you have confirmed a full order works end to end.

Practical advice

  • Keep the plan names identical on both sides. A mismatch between the WHMAZ package and the control panel package is the single most common cause of failed provisioning.
  • Test with a real order before publishing a package, not just with the connection test.
  • Do not delete packages that active customers are on. Hide them from the order form instead, so existing services keep renewing correctly.
